Why I Love My Meeden Easel (And Why I’m Upgrading Soon)

Okay, I’ll admit it. I’m a bit of an easel fangirl. But can you blame me? When you’re an artist who’s constantly inspired by life outside the studio, having the right tools can make a world of difference.

A while ago, I got my hands on this adorable Meeden tabletop easel you know, the one with the wooden box and compartments. It’s compact, folds up like a dream, and has this old-school charm that makes me feel like I’m about to paint a masterpiece in a Parisian café.

And you know what? It became my go-to travel companion. When I’m at the beach or away from my studio, this little easel lets me scratch that creative itch without hauling my whole art room with me. I’ve painted in hotels, rented apartments, outdoor cafes, you name it. If you’re a restless creative like me, this easel is pure magic.

But now… I’m dreaming bigger.

Lately, my paintings have been growing. Medium-sized canvases are starting to feel small, and my arms are practically begging me to stretch them more. So guess what’s on my wishlist? This beauty right here: the Meeden field easel with legs. It can hold big canvases, adjusts to different heights, and is sturdy enough for both painting AND displaying art at pop-up shows (hello, multitasker).

I love the idea of painting outdoors on a proper easel and then turning around and using it at a show to present my work. One piece of equipment, so many possibilities.

One little piece of advice before I go:

Buying an easel won’t magically turn you into an artist overnight. But it will make your life easier. And it can help you show up more professionally when you’re ready to share your art with the world.

But don’t get stuck thinking you need fancy tools to start! I painted on my kitchen table, my desk, and even the floor when I first started. The most important thing is to just keep painting, the easel can come when you’re ready (and trust me, you’ll feel it when you are).

Now, off to add that big easel to my cart… wish me luck!
